After all these years that Illustrator and Photoshop has been around (something like almost 25 years!!), why do I still put up with UNITS malfunctions???????
In Illustrator the UNITS settings screw up every time a new file is opened with a different units. If I'm in one file while units is set to inches, and open another file with units set to centimeters, the new file comes up with units in inches. Further, if I go into preferences to check, preferences says CENTIMETERS. Then I have to set units to inches, close preferences, then open preferences again and reset it back to centimeters. And then the original file now shows CENTIMETERS. And I still have to do this over and over all the time!!!!
WHY?????
Why isn't UNITS a PER FILE parameter?????????
Why hasn't this ever been fixed after all these years??????????
Now another units bug is driving me crazy in Photoshop.
I normally work in Inches all the time.
I'm loading JPGs and changing image size all the time.
Usually the Image Size palette shows Resolution in pixels/inch.
Now, for reasons unknown, it shows PIXELS/CM and I can't get it to stay in PIXELS/INCH.
I've changed it back several times.
I've changed units in preferences back and forth from cm to Inches several times.
I've done both and restarted Photoshop several times.
No matter what I do, Image Size now always shows pixels/cm.
Someone please tell me how I can get this set back permanently!!!!!!
