Reader wont open / run

Aug 8, 2012 2:50 AM

Hi,

Yesterday Reader X worked perfectly, but today when I open a PDF the file opens, then freezes aprox 5 seconds after opening. I cannot open Reader via the icons or the exe. If I right click the exe, explorer freezes.

I have uninstalled, and reinstalled, and even tried Reader 9, but still the problem continues.

The only thing that I have done differently today was attempt to print a PDF, but the toner was too low on my printer, so wouldn't print, and I had to end the task of the Reader to shut it down. Maybe something has corrupt there?

I have also used the "Adobe Cleaner" to remove Reader, but it didn't make any difference.

Any help would be really appreciated. Until then I guess  I'll have to use a 3rd party reader

Thanks,

Dean

Assuming that you are on Windows, can you open Task Manager (tab Processes) and check if one or multiple instances of AcroRd32.exe are running?

Also, while Task Manager is still running, open Reader via desktop icon - does a AcroRd32.exe process appear in the Task Manager?
