Edge animation in vertical and horizontal layout

I placed an Edge animation OAM file into a vertical and horizontal layout. Both Web Overlays are set to Auto Play and Delay 0.125 secs.

Now, on my iPad, I swipe to the article in vertical display and the animation starts. However, if I rotate my iPad into horizontal display, the animation has already been played. The same happens when I start with the horizontal format of the article and rotate to vertical. The first animation works, but the second has been played already, meaning it is in it's end status.

Is there a way to restart the animation if the iPad is rotated? What am I missing here?

 

One other issue is that the animation does not play in the desktop Adobe Content Viewer, but plays on the iPad. Being a Windows user I can't use "Preview on iPad" but have to upload/download my folio for every test - very frustrating.
