So truly out of nowhere while I'm just simply moving thigns around on the timeline of a project, I notice that the graphics on the timeline start copying themselves, the CTI is ghosting itself across the screen when i move it leaving "smear" trails that don;t disappear, and the whole thing just becomes unresponsive. I rebooted the pc and still having the same issues. I tried setting the memory prioroty from performance to memory and that did nothing either. Any clue what the deal is with this all of a sudden? This never happened on CS 5.5
Hey yeah I installed the new drivers and still the same nonsense. The issues are only happening with this project. I cant move a clip or drag it longer or shorter without it "ghosting" on the screen and looking like it is still where it was prior. It also takes like 5 or mroe seconds to register when i click video or audio tracks to select them.
My experience with this set of issues was MOSTLY solved by doing the following:
Trashing the Prefs
Trashing the Media Database
Trashing the Media Cache
Running a NON-CUDA card (Yes, that means NO GPU acceleration).
IMPORTANT: Keeping the Audio Tracks Un-expanded (Meaning, don't twirl the triangle on that track open to reveal the waveform) and/or changing the display paramters on that audio track to NOT display the waveform
Trashing the system audio preferences (They'll rebuild the next time you reboot).
Also, the seems to happen a LOT more when I'm working with projects originated in 5.5.2 that I've upconverted (Meaning, Openend in) to 6.0.1.
Before you start dumping any data, minimize all your audio tracks (No waveform display - do the same for your video tracks - no thumbnail display) and zoom in and zoom out of the timeline and see of the GUI resets itself.
Let us know how it works!
P.S. Tells us about your Rig...
ok people, this is happening to me again on yet another new project. I have 20 gigs of RAM now so i don;t want to hear anything about RAM. This sort of thing never happened in CS5.5. I thought maybe it was just the sequence I was working with, so I made a new one, copied the clips over to that one, and it seemed like ti was fine after working with the clips for a few seconds then it started again.
To trash your preferences you need to hit shift+alt while premiere is opening, you need to hold the buttons down until it's loaded.
However I don't personally think this will likely solve the issue, but it might so it's worth a shot. I have a few questions for you.
When you updated your GPU driver did you download it directly from the card makers website or with windows update?
Are you working with the same types of footage that worked well before or are you dealing with new source content?
What version of Premiere cs6 are you running?
Also have you tried to disable MPE/GPU accleration and see if that makes any difference?
