Faulty CDs

How can I get Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements CDs that work?  The ones you sent fail after recognizing my serial numbers and churning for fifteen minutes;  I get a message telling me to download.  Why should this be necessary with brand new CDs?  I'm using Mac OS Lion, which has been around for long enough for Adobe to eliminate such bugs.

As a further annoyance, the Adobe web site is very slow, for this help site as well as for downloads.  My browser runs at normal speeds, so my Internet connection is not the problem; Adobe is the problem on this, too!

You are not talking to Adobe. This is a user to user community of volunteers, but we will try to help.

Are you sure you are using the correct disk. You only need disk 3 to install both applications on the Mac.

You could check for an agent for installation issues. It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away. You will need your serial number.

Faulty CD is not a bug;  It is just bad CD.  These are facts of life and you do get faulty CDs in a box from time to time.

As to your replacement CDs, you can get them by contacting Adobe Direct.  See this link to get started:

In the meantime you can download the trial version of the software and use your serial number to convert it into the full version.  Trial Versions software are identical to the ones on the CDs and there is no point to wait for the CDs to arrive.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, actually using the trial version is probably going to be the easiest solution. Just enter your serial number and you should be good to go. If you also have a problem with the trial, then it's probably something on your machine rather than the media. Try creating a new admin user and running the install from there.

Also, what exactly does it tell you to download?
