That price must include the VAT.

Way back when the EU was being set up, there was a general intent that 1 Euro would more or less match 1 Dollar in value.

At this moment they don't, with the Dollar being valued at only about 81% of the Euro.  One day in the future the balance may tip in the other direction.  Who can know?

How does a company doing international sales set pricing policy in an environment where currency exchange rates can differ?  One way might be to track rate changes in real time, and update local pricing accordingly.  Clearly there is an ongoing cost to that.  Or they can just price everything in dollars and let the credit card companies work everything out.  Perhaps there are legal problems with doing that.

It seems to me as though Adobe just chose to set the price the same in both Dollars and Euros, and that VAT must be charged for downloads.  So over €100 in the original number you quoted above is for tax.  It's clear to see why you are not allowed to get around paying that.

Regarding the remaining difference, one solution might be to wreck your economy, so that the dollar becomes stronger, then your Photoshop license will be more equitably priced.

No not at all, here in England it's known as Rip Off Britain...  Google it lol...  We pay twice and sometimes even three times as much as other countries for music, books, dvd's, software and the list could go on lol..

That's what one would think, right?  But no.  I don't know what country the OP is from, but in Germany PS Standard full version costs EUR 799 excluding VAT (that's only EUR 4 less than the OP can buy it for).  Including VAT it is EUR 950.81
