curently i have an object in my time line that refuses to be selected when clicked on regardless of the tool. i can drag select it however lacking the ability to quickly click down in to a movies layers is really bugging me along with i would liek to know what i did to even cause this. i know for a fact that it is not locked, i checked that a few times. to make thigns even odder, i have a black object in the object that i can select normaly and enter the object, however atempting to click on the rest of the object results in nothing.
is there some way that i can make that object clickable again?
the file can be downloaded at the link. the problem object is the Enterocyte's, theres 3 of them that use the same object and all 3 of them are not clicable.
It is the mask you have applied twithin the movie clip "inner" which is causing this.
If you move the mask (layer named "mask") to start at the first frame and not at frame 32 as it does now and save it, you will be able to select the enterocyte movie clip on the stage.
Effectively a mask layer had been applied to the object on Layer 1so it was "hidden" to mouse clicks but no mask was in place on the layer above it until later in the clip. Therefore the object could not be selected.
I didn’t really get what you were getting after with the mask being the problem, so I went fiddling around some more and found a more complete answer to my question. The reason why the M cell could be clicked on was because the first frame contained a complete set of the image above the mask layer. That was the only real big difference between the two in how they were laid out in the time line. So I carried this over to the problematic one and it solved all my problems.
Thank you for your help on this.
The way I built the files was in 3 layers. At the main timeline clicking on the object will take you to the pointer level. In the M Cell there are 4 layers for this one, on the Enterocyte there is just 1 because I figured out threw the M Cell that it didn’t need to be broken up that much. Once you’re on the pointer layer you click on the cell again to reach the animation. The animation layers are where the mask is applied but only applied to the fill layer. (layer 3 on the M Cell)
the difference between the M Cell an Enterocyte ones was on the M Cell i had Layer 1 contain a complete set of the cell (outline and fill) above the masking layer. Where on the Enterocyte cell i lacked that layer. All I had to do was add that 1 frame of information above the masking layer and it’s all working as it should be.
The red highlights the frame that made all the difference. Without that highlighted material above the masking layer, the file becomes unclick able.
