Converting MSWord to PDF - some pages don't convert properly or are missing info

For example, one of the MSWord pages has a clipart over which we inserted a text box. The text does not show up after saving as pdf... just the blank clip art. Is there a setting that needs to be changed? I am using Adobe Standard 9.2.0 with MSWord 2012.

    Do you knw how to convert to pdf, then save (where?) and finally attach to email?

    What OS? How did you do the conversion? MSWord 2012 must be a beta version and that may be the issue. There are 3 basic ways to get a PDF from a WORD document. In WORD you select the Acrobat menu and then use create PDF (this is PDF Maker). You can also set the preferences that are used. However, you probably can not use that with your current version of Acrobat. WORD 2010 requires AAX for this feature.

     

    The second method for conversion by Acrobat is to print to the Adobe PDF printer. Again, you can adjust properties in the printer properties menu. The last method is to use the WORD plugin from MS to get the PDF.

     

    Each method has it's own issues. However, we have no clue what you tried to do. It sounds like you were trying to use some transparency and that may be the issue.

    I got it converted (why only 1 at a time of 12 I am not sure)

    Then I lost it and then I couldn't email it (obviously if I couldn't find it)

    This is for my grandchildren. Be easier to go to WW II

    Sorry for the typo. I have Office 2010 (not 2012) at work. We write training manuals and convert the files to PDF to send to the professional printer and to share on our Intranet.

     

    To create the PDF files I typically click on Print, then select Adobe PDF. The same error occurs if I use the create PDF option in Msword.

     

    I hope this information can help figure out what the problem is. I call Adobe help line Today but the wait time was over 30 minutes.

    I cant locate the pdf after nor attaché to an email

    The reason to ask how you converted is to try to direct you on the steps for the conversion. If you use the Adobe PDF printer, then when you select print you should get a window to name the file (if you don't then we need to address how to get that window), you can select the folder in this window or use the default that is shown, name the file, and save. You would then open Windows Explorer and select that folder to find the file. If you are attaching to an e-mail, you would again select the folder when you are doing an attachment and select the file from that folder.

     

    Things may vary based on your version of Windows, so letting us know your operating system, method of creating a PDF, and the steps you use and see are important for us to try to help you.

    System Specs: Acrobat Pro 9.3.4, Word 2010, Win XP

     

    I have a similar situation happening as well. When I print to Adobe PDF via the print command in Word, some graphics including text boxes do not convert into the PDF file except for marks representing the corners of the graphic. However, the graphics convert just fine when I do the Save As a PDF in Word.

     

    Why the "Save As..." approach is an isue for me is I then need to manually apply my security settings to the PDF file, whereas I have my Adobe PDF printer properties pre-configured to apply them. This can get pretty tedious when you have to generate a quantity of protected documents on a regular basis.

     

    Any help on this issue will be appreciated.
