A file called Snippet_3064049C6.idms has just appeared on my desktop. Its preferences tells that the type is InDesign Markup Snippet (.idms). I run InDesign CS4, but I havn't installed any new adobe programs recently nor updated any except Adobe Reader - as well as Windows 7's usual updates. What is this file for?

You must have dragged a selection in your InDesign document onto the desktop. To find out what it is, simply drag it to a new InDesign document or check it out in Bridge.
