Yesterday some saved pdfs from Illustrator CS5 started to not preview correctly--in Preview or Adobe Acrobat.
After testing it I've found if I make a change to a pdf and hit save, it no longer previews to show the full artboard size; it shows a cropped veiw of the art. If I choose save-as, it previews correctly.
I replaced the users/library/AICS5/preference file this morning with a backup I keep on a server but the problem is still happening. One example. I have an image saved within an 8.5 x 11 artboard/page size. After making a change and hitting save, it's now previewing and showing in Acrobat as a 7.09 x 6.37 artboard.
One other detail--a coworker checked out one of my files and now he Illustrator (also CS5) is doing the same thing to other files she's saving.
So, does this sound like a corruption in my software? A transferable bug? Or did I accidentally change some save option where it is no longer recognizing the artboard?
Thank you for your help.
Adobe Illustrator CS5 running on Mac 10.6.8. 2 x 2.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 7GB RAM
So far we've had mixed success in my dept. I was able to cure my Illustrator by the following:
1. Quitting Illustrator.
2. Replacing the users/library/AICS5/preference file with a backup file.
3. Running DiskWarrior to check/correct the computer's hard drive directories.
That worked on the first try for me, but it hasn't worked for my coworker's machine. That coworker also researched this topic and found a discussion from last year I had missed--dealing with the same issue here:

I'd appreciate more feedback from whoever knows about this!
Thanks.
