I just purchased a Nikon D800E only to find that cs-4 will not support the new raw file format, I have upgraded to CA-6 and installed all the updates including canera raw 7.1 still no ability to read raw files help any one?

    Photoshop CS4 is not compatible with ACR 7.1. You need Photoshop CS6 in order to use ACR 7.1. You can also download the latest free DNG converter and convert your NEFs to DNG so they will open in CS4.

    It seems likely guy intended to type CS6 instead of "CA-6", in which case he has a bona fide problem.

     

    Guy, just to be sure:  Have you quit and restarted Photoshop since having installed the new version?

     

    In Photoshop, if you choose Help - About Plug-in... do you see just one Camera Raw entry?  And if you click it does it show 7.1?
