curving motion tween paths in flash

in flash pro 6, when i try to curve a straight line segment with in a motion tween, the line curves, but a straight line remains and another part of the motion tween path is eliminated. i can then curve the straight line that appears under the previously curved line, only to have another part of the path disappear and another straight line appears under the curved path. i can do this 3-4 times before running into an error.

 

after hitting file-revert, was able to curve a couple segments normally a couple times before the same issue arises.

    I am not getting the excal issue. The animation paths are missing or some parts is not working correctly. What type of animation is created (" shape tween, motion tween or  Calssic tween ")
