Display datecode in miniDV .avi file?

Sep 4, 2012 7:17 PM

I have some .avi files captured from miniDV tape.  I used a different program for capture in case that matters; it was before I owned PP CS6.  Anyway, I can't seem to figure out how to get PP to display the date in the video file.  It is in there as I can use DVDate (freeware) to see the date.  I tried a few of the metadata display options related to dates, but nothing I tried worked.   Thoughts?    Thanks, Jon

PP can't do this.  You'll have to use another program.

Unfortunately, PP cannot display this metadata. As a workaround you can use the DVDate that you mentioned and export the time/data as a subtitle, than use the .srt file as a eergh subtitle. Hope this will suffice your need.

I know this is a stale thread, but just wanted to point out that there is a DVDate plug-in for PPro on Windows that does this:

    Zac,

Old thread or not, that is great to know, as this question comes up with some regularity - less so, since tapeless workflow has become so popular, but still good to know.

    Thank you,
