Stop Typewriter Bar Popping-up in Adobe Acrobat X

How can I stop the typewriter bar from popping up each time I click on the typewriter tool? It is so frustrating as I need to move it out of the way each time it comes up and then X it closed when I'm finished. In previous versions you could click on the typewriter tool and type away without the bar popping up on the screen.

I use the typewriter fairly often in .pdf documents and would REALLY love it if the bar would not pop up on the screen each time I use typewriter.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Typewriter toolbar appears only when you click on 'Add or Edit Text Box',or when you select a previously added text comment. Once the toolbar appears when you have selected the Typewriter tool, and you close it by clicking on X button on toolbar, even then you can go on typing text comments, without the toolbar showing up again.

Do you see a different behavior? What version of Reader/Acrobat are you on? Can you send the detailed steps of what you are doing?

My firm uses PDF Flyer and we're having the same problems with the floating toolbars.  Please issue an update or solution to fix this extremely bothersome issue.

This is a Fix posted by another member on a different thread.

I just tried it and abracadabra, it worked like a charm:

By chance do you use a program called PDFlyer?  If so...

    To fix...

    Launch Adobe X.

Click Tools on the right side of the screen.

    Click on PDFlyer.

    Click Set Options.

    Click Start up.

Unclick Restore standard toolsbars on start up.

    Close Adobe X and reopen.

I just gave it a shot - check it, save, close, then open, uncheck, save, close.  None of the toolbars fixed/docked to the top were affected at all, the floating toolbars finally stopped showing up.

When I checked the box, then reopened, the floaties were back.  In either instance, whether the box was checked or not, it didn't mess with any of the docked toolbars at the top.  Unchecking the box also fixed my drop down connectors/stamps in PDFlyer too which were previously not showing an image, but worked if I picked one and knew where ABC or 123 was.

If this fix isn't working, I suggest a re-install (repair install) as I read somewhere along the way this world fix the floating toolbars so of course I tried it.  That would be the only other thing I would suggest if you check, then uncheck that box in PDFlyer and still are having the issue.
