From what I know, that would indicate the serial number is cross-platform. That is, you can use the serial number regardless of OS - Mac or Win. I'd, however, suggest that you contact Customer Support to confirm.

If your serial number is 'retail', you can license on maximum two systems. If your serial number is 'volume licensing'' you can license on N number of systems.

Please contact customer support if you facing problem in licensing.

yes, system here means desktop and laptop both.  On Win desktop you have already installed. Try installing on mac laptop. it will succeed.
