    You could provide more information.

    Boilerplate-text:

Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?

I am suprised that it runs with only 1 gig of RAM.  You need at least 2 more gigs to make it usable.  Works much better with 64 bit and  8 gig.

    What is your screen resolution?

If you screen resolution is lower than 1024 x 768 then the save as dialog might not show.

    R_Kelly has it exactly right.

If you cannot change your screen resolution to provide at least 768 pixels vertically, your system does not meet the minimum requirements for Photoshop.
