I have changed the text of some subtitles, viewed the changes on a preview, but when i actually burn the DVD the old subtitles are still being used. I have done this after cleaning the Media Cache also, with the same result. Any ideas out there? Thanks!

When I import subtitles from a txt file, all letters are capitalized, which is not what I have in the original file. How do I change this?

It seems that Encore does not support importing subtitles in Right-to-Left scripts? (They import, but display backwards even if the correct font is selected.)

You may want to use image scripts.

I would then have to create image files for each of the 900+ lines of text that I have in my subtitle file? That sounds like a nightmare.

    Yes it does!

I have not used it (played a bit), but check this option out as to whether it will do conversions:

Thanks. This is a good workaround. SubtitleEdit allows one to export Arabic subtitles as PNG image files linked to a FAB image script file that Encore can import. It isn't ideal, a lot of our intertitles and people IDs are handled by subtitles and we don't have the same flexibility in terms of positioning them when working this way, but at least we can have workable Arabic subtitles.

It is a bug, or at least an oversight, on the part of Adobe. There is nothing to do except either use other software or use the workaround that Stan Jones recommended.
