Drop Down List to only display selected items.

I am attempting to create a form that will have several fields that will offer drop down lists, but after selecting multiple items, (Shift-Click, I assume) that it will close the field box and only display the selected item(s). I realize that it may also need an autosizing box to accomodate, since many or few items may be selected. The items are a bit long, 50-150 characters each, but I need each drop down list to have around a hundred items. The intended reader of the document would have no idea of the possible selections available, and would only see the final selected items. Any workarounds appreciated.

    Dropdowns simply don't behave that way. You cannot select multiple items, but you can with a list box when the field is enabled to allow it by pressing Ctrl-click.
