Paint Brush tool giving me trouble

Hey everyone - I've been having this issue the last few times I've use the paint brush tool in Illustrator.

I've not had it up until the last 3 or so times I've used it.

Instead of a nice clean, uniform stroke, I'm getting extra thickness in the curves.

I get this with the two round brushes. (default [3pt] and the thicker one [10pt])

See attached image.

What is going on? How can I remedy it?

BLAQlaser,

This is the blob issue, to be fixed with the Gold(en) ZigZag magic.
