Creating a character to animate in AE. When cutting up model, like the arm, the continuity of the black stroke becomes broken when rotated. I know a lot of people do not use black strokes or outlines thereby not having the problem, but I want to keep my black outlines of my character. Any jedi advice?
Here it is. If you noticed the break where the bicep and forearm bend. I dont want lines crossing over each other and if I put an elipse for the elbow there are more lines overlapping. I do not want to use the puppet tool in AE. Also, if you see the arc'd line seperating body from arm I want that line removed. Its just a matter of keeping the character outlines only, even when it bends.
You'd be much better off trying this with AE's native shape layers. Otehr than that you would have to expand your artwork and convert the strokes to area fills and clean them up suitably.
I personally think that you can create this the traditional way in Illustrator as a simple 2D art without trying to make it some combination of shapes and use AE's puppet tool to animated the figure. I think you will be happier with simplicity of the technique.
