Why do I get the spinning beach ball and then my PDF quits when editing a PDF with lots of art/graphics?
Also, we have both Macs and PCs (both have the problem), and we have new OS
updates.

If it the same File its either Corrupt, or the file size is too big for the amount of available memory on your computers. And are you trying to work on the same file from a server at the same time. That is a no-no. either one or the other but both at the same time.
No, the files are not corrupt. They are fine. This has been happening to us
for years but only when we work on files that have lots of art/photos.
Other files do not quit. The memory on our computers is huge and nearly
empty. We do not store files once we have finished. We send them off and
then delete them. We never work on the same PDFs. Only one person works on
a job/book. Thank you anyway.
Just as a test, you might want to empty the TEMP folder when this occurs and see if there is a change. When you have a lot of graphics there are potential problems because of the size that some folks use. You might want to try to use Reduce File Size or the PDF Optimize to reduce the size of the graphics used, particularly if you are only providing feedback as a proof Reader, not correcting the PDF.
