    Maybe due to 2 reasons:

    1. You're referring to Font Families - which are clubbed in Photoshop. For example, HelveticaNeue has multiple types. Bold, Condensed Bold, Italic, Bold Italic, Ultralight, etc... These are grouped as 1 family in Photoshop. When you choose HelveticaNeue, you can then choose the sub-type

    2. Some of the fonts are corrupt. Open Fontbook > Select all fonts (Cmd + A), File > Validate Fonts. See the scan report if there are any corrupt fonts

Yes, if a font is installed in Font book, they will show in Photoshop unless you've disabled the font in Font Book (which I don't think you've done, or, have you?).

Can you open other apps such as Word, Powerpoint or some other Adobe programs such as Illustrator, Indesign to see if those fonts show up there?

Let us know how it goes.

Also, let us know if you've used these fonts earlier in Photoshop - the ones that aren't showing up now.

Your font registry is corrupt. Can you try creating a new user account on your mac and try from there?

I don't think that will be necessary.

Can you try running the steps outlined here: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-fonts-mac-os-x. html

Well that is official Adobe's link.

I'm masking it behind this link here now. Try it.
