Question re Photoshop Elements not downloading photos from my camera

My Photoshop Elements program, 2004 version, is not downloading my photos from the camera to the file - saying there is an error. Could this be fixed by upgrading, and would this preserve the photos already in the file.

    What version of PSE are you using. Try launching the Organizer; then press Ctrl+G for the downloader. Connect your camera and see if you can browse to get it recognized as a device. If you upgrade to PSE11 it will convert your existing catalog so your data such as keywords, captions, albums etc will not be lost.

    Hi 99jon,

     

    Thanks for your advice.

     

    I have version 3.0 . The camera downloads all the photos, and when I press “get photos”, it only loads a few eg 5%, then says there is an error, and it stops downloading the other photos to the elements file.

    PSE3 has a different database to the current version and it will be converted with some differences e.g. star ratings replace favorites and some creations may be lost. Read this tech note if you intend to upgrade.
