Problem with link colour!

Nov 22, 2012 7:38 AM

Ive set up the link colour (red) for every page in page properties but for some reason some of the links appear in purple. Any ideas why that might be?

see this page the link colour purple:

    Have you set this red: #9F100B?

    If so, it is working just fine for me.

    Did you try clearing your browser cache? Maybe, it's loading a cached version which was probably purple earlier, before you changed it to red?

    You are seeing purple as the default color "visited" link state.

    Assign your desired color for the "visited" link state.

    Be sure to add it just before the hover rule

    a:link {
    color: #9F100B;
    text-decoration: none;
    }
    a:hover {
    color: #C3A328;
    text-decoration: none;

    }

    To modify what Ken has said above, you need to add:

    a:visited {/*Your styles in here*/}

    before a:hover{} but after a:link{}.

    Alternatively, if you want the visited to be the same red, change your rule to:

    a:link, a:visited {

    color:#9F100B;

    text-decoration:none;

    }

    Thanks Ken & rik! Didn't notice the visited link color in css. Overlooked it rather!

    You are most welcome

    If your Styles were all placed in a remote stylesheet, you would only need to change that file to apply any changes across the entire site.

    You could also put your menubar in an "include" file and abt future changes could be made to that single file and would appear site wide.

    Do a search on "Server Side Includes" and come back to us and we'll help out.
