White showing as cream

I have just installed elements 11 on a windows 7 machine and whites are showing as cream, even in the colour pickers and swatches. My elements 8 works fine. how do I fix this?

    You may like to reset the preferences of Editor.

    Press Ctrl+K. In General Tab, you will find a button: Reset Preferences on next launch. Quit Editor and relaunch it.

    Thank you. I did this and requested not to use "corrupt" monitor colour profile. all is now well.
