i5 vs i7 for CS6

Hope this is the right forum. I am studying Graphic Design at Uni and buying my first mac as well as Adobe Phtotoshop and Illustrator (CS6). I have decided to purchase the 13" MacBook Pro however I am unsure whether there is any advantage of having the Core i7 instead of the Core i5.  Can CS6 take advantage of the extra cores?

No. Most operations in AI are single-threaded and haven't seen any performance enhancements in the last 15 years or so. That's why AI is so unreliable and slow, after all.

Mylenium is overlooking the fact that you are also buying Photoshop which will function better with the i7 however the i5 is fine to work with as well.
