I use Illustrator on a Mac and a PC. On the Mac, there is no problem. Any time the Illustrator window is open, and I press V, it gets me the direct selection tool, and if I press shift+b, it gets me my blob brush, no problem.
On a PC, however, it doesn't always work. I'll sometimes have to click on the screen again and then press v to get the selction tool, or any other tool. I heard in a Lynda tutorial that this is a common windows problem. I'm using windows 7 and CS5.1.
Has this issue been solved by anybody?
