OSX Opens PS CS5.5 when double clicking .psd: Choosing other application is blocked

Nov 26, 2012 4:59 AM

I want to set another program as the default .psd editor, yet PS CS5.5 keeps openingen them. If you click change all in the Info window, nothing happens.

Same problem with .indd files. I want another program atached to .indd files than InDesign CS 5.5

Please how do I remove the connection between .PSD/.INDD and starting the corresponding CS5.5 apps?

Try changing the associations using Adobe Bridge's Preferences > File Type Associations.

In Bridge/file type associations what does the default setting say for .psd?

This won't help, but I can tell you that your problem does not happen to me with Ps CS5.1 and CS6 on OS X 10.6.8. I can set (via Finder's Get Info) all PSD to be opened by another app and that persists when both Ps and Bridge are launched and quit a couple of times.

What version of OS X are you using?
