When selecting the footer text box, a line of text in the main text box is juming a line and leaving a gap of space, which then seemingly can't be removed. What might be behind this?
Sounds like baseline grid alignment.
The problem doesn't seem to be in the baseline grid or keep options. Here's the scene:
When I select the footer, a gap suddenly occurs midway down the page:
I've been unable to clear this gap away which still persists after the footer is deselected. Here it is with footer deselected, and the text selected (which seems to make no difference in controling the gap, but you may notice something telling in the image, that I don't see.)
I do notice that the footer text box was light gray before selection, but after, it remains blue, as seen above here. This happens on every page of this section where I attempt to make a change (Index, Endnotes) to the footer.
