Setting multiple objects to have their stroke color as their fill color and vice versa?

Nov 26, 2012 9:58 PM

Is there any way to make multiple objects with various colors set their respective stroke color as their respective fill color and vice versa(so their fill and stroke color will be the same in result)? or do I need a special script for this?

You have two options depending on how many different colors are required for the number of objects. If all objects will be opposites of each other, then you only need to have the fill and stroke colors, in the tool bar on left side you will find the two color swatches at the bottom of the bar. Just to the upper right of them is an arrow. Clicking it will switch between the two colors

Now if you have more than two colors, you will need to save the colors to the swatch panel. You can then click on the color as you need them.

Shift+X allows you to reverse stroke and fill colours, but only when objects have the same stroke and fill to start with.

Doesn’t work on multiple objects with different fills and strokes.

For global chanegs withing a selection you could use:

edit >> edit colors with preset >> recolor with preset >> library >> document swatches, to swap colors

Which  works similar to merge swatches, except you don't have to create an extra dummy interim color.
