New to Flash and Keep getting TLF errors...

Nov 27, 2012 1:43 PM

I'm using Flash Pro CS6x64 on Windows 7 Pro. This is what I'm getting.

The font named Times is not compatible with TLF text. TLF text using this font will not display properly.

VerifyError: Error #1014: Class fl.text::TLFTextField could not be found.

ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TLFTextField is not defined.

ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TCMText is not defined.

I've looked through forums and googled for at least 5 hours. I'm in a Flash class right now and it's one of my assignments. I never had this issue until now. Been working with Flash for a couple months. I recently had to reactivate my CS6 Suite because there was an issue with Acrobat not opening. I'm wondering if that's the culprit. I tried using text on another document and the .swf worked fine on testing. So it have to be some sort of linking in the file itself. Perhaps with the library?

If you need any more information I will give it to you asap. I'm a hard-working student and I'm worried about my grade!

Thank you in advance.

click file>publish settings>swf and attach a screenshot of the publish settings panel.

if you can see that you're publishing for actionscript 2.0, fix that.

if you're not loading that swf into another swf you shouldn't see an error with those publish settings.

to make sure, you haven't messed something up, create a new directory and create a new fla and save it to your new directory.  add a tlf textfield to the stage and test your movie (control>test movie).  any error?
