I'm trying to package an ID document that I upgraded from CS4 to CS5
and later to 5.5 on another machine. When packaging I get an error saying:
Cannot copy necessary linked file(s). The free diskspace is not an issue:
I have at least 480 Gb free space. Then I tried to make an idml and turn
that into a .indd doc and package that but I get the same error.
I'm sure it's something in the file as I have packaged larger documents
over the same network but those were native CS5.5 docs. Is there a way
to check/edit the document under the hood or something?
I think I found the root of all evil. When looking at the packaging report it refers to
2 old plugins that are not in use anymore in CS5.5: CoolKerning and Suitcase CS4.
Is there a way to exclude that plugin info from the packaging job? That would solve
the problem I guess. All the font and artwork links are OK.
Thanks Peter. I'm working on that. At my fist attempt I got an error again.
Even though the document says that there are no errors. Now I have to check
around 65 links to see who's the stinker. How can I do the same for the fonts?
Phew, sorted! It turned out that 4 links had a slash in their filename.
This was up to CS4 never a problem. After altering their filename and
relinking again, packaging went just as smooth as normal. Thanks for
bearing with me Peter.
