SDHC Card download

When downloading photos from sdhc card elements gives an error message file corrupt or not supported file. Only taken photo in Raw format and have not had problems downloading Raw from compactflash Photos download ok into Canon own software. Any suggestions please.

    What camera model are you trying to import raws from, and what version of Elements are you using, and if you know, what version of Camera Raw plug-in do you have? 

     

    If the camera is newer than the Camera Raw plug-in you have in Elements then things won’t work.

    Thanks for your reply I should have given more info

    I am using Elements 8 and have just bought a Canon 650d (used to use 350d)

    In Raw it is 18mp so could it be 8 does not support this higher quality?

    Hi Helicopt,

     

    The support for Canon 650d is provided in Camera Raw version 7.1

    And you cannot update PSE8 to ACR 7.1

    Here is the list of cameras supported by ACR versions:

    What you can do?

    Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your CR2 files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your original CR2’s as backup) or for use in Canon DPP bundled with your camera.

    Good advice

     

    The 650d actually needs version 7.2

    Thanks again for your suggestions I will try this ASAP. Do later versions

    of Elements support ACR 7.2?

    PSE11 comes with ACR 7.1 and can be upgraded to 7.2.

    Yes. That's rightly said by Michel. Only PSE11 comes with ACR 7.1 and then can be upgraded.
