I have installed several times fresh copies of ps9 and same results the imac intel duo computer WILL NO RESTART unless shut down from back button , then computer will have to be started manually and thereafter the computer will re start every single time UNTIL I USE ps9 Why ? I have taken the computer to Apple (under apple care) these people don't find anything wrong with the computer,
but PS9 software and they are correct, is there any "plist" that needs to be trashed or updates, I have tried the updates and no luck thank you.
Yes I have Uninstalled PS9, tried updates , yes the machine will re start as long as ps9 has not been used, the moment I opened PS9 then close it then the computer will not restart unless is forced to shut down from back button on the Imac (osx 10.6.8 Snow Leopard) in other words with PS9 inside the computer or NOT after any usage the computer will not re start unless FORCED to shut down including pulling the plug by hand.![]()
Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 settings
That library is hidden in 10.7 and 10.8. To see it, click the Go menu in the Finder and hold down the Option key. It will appear below the little house for your user account. Also, in those versions of OS X, while you're in that library, go to the Saved Application States folder and remove anything for PSE.
Dear barbara, I did as you say username>library>preferences and delete :

what I could not find was "Saved Application States folder" therefore did not remove anything else bearing PSE
the computer continues to fail to re start after just opening PS9 , the only way the computer will re start is if I shut it down from back button and then re start from the Apple menu bar (upper left corner) I'm lost in plain daylight sorry.

Intel duo 10.6.8 that is what I have ,that explains no states folder. no anti virus now, used to have Kaspersky no more it has expired and thrown out trashed etc. have not tried new user and log in , in this regard do you mean on photoshop account alone or the computer itself ? got plenty of ram 12 gigs, 3.06 GHz Thank you
Well I tried a different computer user name as administrator and same problem (computer WILL NOT RE START AFTER HAVING OPENED PS9 even for a brief moment) seem that every time I used PS9 i will have to shut down the computer the hard way , so I can re start it when needed it it seems rather stupid for a machine this good but let me make it overly clear it is not the computer to blame but the PS9 software and Adobe staff are not helping at all thank you anyway.
