wav file to after effects 7

When I add a .wav file to after effects 7 it It says not supported, even if the audio is in a .mov file when i go to save it as a flv after effects crashes.., cant seem to add any audio file at all, anyone know why??

    Well, looking in my magic crystal ball tells me that you are running the show on Win 7 or Win 8 even and that such an old version AE can't deal with the new audio driver model on these operating systems or Quicktime or anything to do with audio/ video CoDecs in a very general sense. Or to the point: You are using incompatible software on unsupported operating systems then and more or less it's miraculous that you were actualyl able to install the software without problems.
