Using CS5 and a wacom tablet, when I pull a guide, it won't "drop. I can even switch to other programs, like Firefox, and I can see the dotted guide line following my cursor in the background.
Thanks for any help.
I don't know how to draw a guide without rulers visible. ![]()
I've discovered that this problem only exists in some of my files. Some consistantly work fine, but in others, the guides don't work right.
Now that I'm looking into it, it seems the driver for my tablet doesn't go past 5.2.5-5a (I'm running a Sapphire CTE-630, which I uderstand is a Grapphire 3.) I guess I've been running the wrong driver. I'll update to the correct driver and see if that helps.
I don't belive Wacom ever made anything titled "Sapphire". I could be wrong about that though. Graphire 3s are labeled as Graphires.
The problem sounds like some operating system/mouse/input issue and not directly related to Illustrator, especially so if the issue persists when switching applications.

Neither do I.
Huh? Draw any path, then CMD/CTRL-5. In fact, for what it's worth, try that and see if you have the same problem if the guide is generated that way. No idea why that would help, but it can't hurt.
Seems to me I've experienced sticky guides now and then. I believe a re-launch cured it, but it's been a long time.
