Bridge will not place into illustrator

Hi

 

Bridge is successfully placing images into Photoshop and indesign, but not illustrator. When I select "Place in Illustrator" nothing happens. Please advise.

    When I select "Place in Illustrator" nothing happens. Please advise.

     

     

    Then you should provide more details about OS and CS version. Did it work before and what filetypes are you trying to place?

     

    If you have same CS version for PS, InDesign and Illustrator it should work without problems.

    Thanks Omke, you're right I should have mentioned that.

     

    I'm on Windows 7 64 bit

     

    I'm working in CS6 Master Suite, so yes they are all the same version. The files I'm trying to place are JPEG's. Also, if I select "Place..." from the file menu within illustrator, it opens the system browser and the photos place perfectly well. But of course bridge adds convenience so I want to be able to to place from it.

    Also, if I select "Place..." from the file menu within illustrator, it opens the system browser and the photos place perfectly well.

     

    This indicates to the Illustrator Start up script not functioning. First check Bridge Preferences Start Up scripts if the Illustrator script is showing and if there is a check mark in front. If not checked check it, if not present at all restart Bridge holding down control key and choose 'reset preferences', this usually recreates the start up scripts in a correct way.

    Hi, sorry I haven't replied, just been too busy.

     

    I'm on Windows 8 now and the problem persists. I checked the start up scripts, Illustrator was both present and checked. I restarted preferences anyway, and still the problem persists.

     

    Any other suggestions? Illustrator is the only program bridge won't place into.

    I'm afraid not, I use a Mac so I can't test this, maybe drop this question in the Illustrator forum, it is more likely to find someone to test for same behavior there I would think.
