Just wanted to run this by some flash pros out there. I have a flash photograph gallery but two of the galleries for some reason are not "functioning".
Please go to http://photography.khangp.com.
When it opens, you will see "Portrait" and "Product" on top along with other galleries. But these two are the only ones that are not working.
In a local environment, they are functioning as they should but not on the web. I have no idea what is causing this. I thought maybe it had something to do with the XML file but I've gone over it a dozen times and everything checks out! Again, the same gallery functions fully in a local environment but I don't know what is up with these two in particular.
I would appreciate it if someone can shed some light on this. By the way, I know almost nothing about flash and this was simply a template that I bought.
your first error is:
TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.
the first problem with your portrait gallery is there is no:
the first problem with your product gallery is there is no:
p.s. case counts onliine. ie,
http://photography.khangp.com/bin/data/images/product/jewelry/thumb/01 .jpg is not the same as http://photography.khangp.com/bin/data/images/product/jewelry/thumb/01 .JPG
Excellent! You hit the nail on the head!
Honestly, I did know that case sensitivity is very important on the web. When I went over the XML file a dozen times, I made it a point to check the extensions on the images. What I forgot was to check the extension at the other end! All of the images in those two categories had ".JPG" instead of ".jpg" as specified in the XML. The thing I learned from this experience is that I need to pay attention to every detail when coding and references are involved.
Thank you very much!
I must ask: which one of those errors gave away the problem?
you need to fix all the errors but the first line will only be seen by users that have the debug flash player version.
the file extension problems where the cause of the gallery problems you noticed and that everyone else would notice.
Can you possibly tell me what the errors are pointing to? Actionscript makes absolutely makes no sense to me.
I have commented out things in the XML file so maybe that is what is causing the errors?
to debug actionscript errors, click file>publish settings>swf and tick "permit debugging". retest.
the problematic line number will be in the error message. if you still don't understand the problem after doing that, copy and paste the first line of code mentioned in the error message.
