Outlined logo needs to have an inner stroke - Resize

Dec 6, 2012 12:36 PM

Ok, I have checked everywhere and have done this many times over the past 25 years plus (but not enough obviously since I forgot)...I need to resize an object; let's just say it's a logo. I want to resize the logo inside of itself to create a double line as shown and it needs to proportionally resize itself without me having to fix either the horizontal and vertical on the object. By holding the Shift+Alt then dragging does not scale it proportionally within itself. I've check my Preferences and they seem to be ok...I am using CS5.5. What is it again that I need to check in order to make this happen? Thanks.

Do you mean Object>Path>Offset Path with a negative value (which is a constant distance, rather than proportional, change)?

    You are welcome, silverback.

I like the Alt/Option key combinations, because I am silly enough to feel they make sense enough to be remembered, so I use Alt/Option+O+P+O in this case.

Your version may have an additional option.

In any case, you can create custom key combinations.

If you build it as an Appearance stack, you won't have to remember it. You can store it as a Graphic Style and apply it anytime you want to live text.
