Open .p65 files in InDesign CS6

I can't open .p65 files in Indesign CS6. I get the following error message: Cannot open the file "file.p65". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application.

How can I solve this?

You’re not the first to report this recently. What operating system are you using?

XP SP3 (and Vista) broke the ability to open PM files for, what, CS4? I suppose that may have crept back in in CS6. Working OK in Win 7, though.

    No. That was CS2.

I haven't seen a PM file in years so I have no clue what the problem is or whether it's widespread or not.

Can you upload the PM file to dropbox and provide a link? Then one of us who do not seem to have this issue (at least I don't with my PM files) can take a look and perhaps convert it for you.

    Take care, Mike

That's probably it, but it's also probably worth zipping it up and posting a link (or send it to Mike or me in a Private Message) and let us give it a shot. You can't win if you don't play, as it were, and maybe we'll get a miracle.
