Running Windows 7 64-bit on my Dell Inspiron, I got a notification that a new version of Flash Player was ready to download. I executed the download and did a successful installation of version 11.5.502.110. I verified the installation. Later in my session, I again got the same notification that a new version was available to download. I answered "NO" but this same notiication popoup has continued to occur regularly ever since. Once out of frustration, I answered "YES" to install but got a message that install would complete only when I closed Internet Explorer, which was not open at the time. I continue to get regular spurious notifications. How can I stop this?
Thanks, I was afraid that was the answer. Just hoping I could disable further notifications instead. Are there no less painful solutions?
Happy Holidays to you and yours. And thanks again for taking the time to help me out.
there's nothing painful about that. you just have to trust that uninstaller from adobe which is a pretty small leap of faith considering you already let adobe add the flash player to your browser.
the whole process of downloading, uninstalling and reinstalling should take less then 5 minutes unless you're using dial-up and downloading that 0.6mb file takes you more than 3 minutes.
