Before I updated Indesign I had no issue with exporting ePUB files. Then afterwards, I started losing my breaks and spaces

This doesn't happen if I export for PDF and the XHTML of the ePUB file has the paragraphs in the code.
Why would you want a blank paragraph in an epub or any other document for that matter?
That’s what paragraph spacing and CSS margin-top and margin-bottom are for.
You’ll be a lot happier with the results if you do it without the blank paragraphs.

After playing around with some of the settings, I'm still losing the spaces and breaks I had put in. For example:

When it is converted to ePUB. Although, when I use the Kindle plugin 9to publish a mobi file) it keeps the original layout.
Are you allowing InDesign to write the CSS? Is it updated to 8.0.1?

So, you’re saying you have space after or before, you’re choosing auto for tags and the css is not writing any margin-top or margin-bottom?
How are you testing this epub?
That's right, I had space before exporting then no space after exporting.
I'm using, Adobe Digital Editions, calibre, Sony Reader for PC and Kindle Previewer to test the ePUB file.
Bizzarely, I exported the ePUB file on another machine and it is now fine.
