How is webcam background cropping done?

I was just watching youtube gameplay videos and came across this one.

How did they make it so that their backgrounds were transparent?

I've searched a couple times over and I only see full tutorials about recording webcam but I want to know how the background is transparent.

Chroma keying.

One camera to shoot the computer screen or an application like Camsasia and one camera to shoot the two persons in front of a green or blue screen.
