I'm editing a documentary and I am in the process of putting markers in interview-takes and making notes of what is being said using the Metalogging workspace.
I've gone through several clips marking and describing content. Now, my markers are still there, but all of the text has seemed to have vanished. Furthermore, the markers have doubled, placing two markers in the same position and when I try to edit a marker the program crashes. This is EXTREMELY annoying and stops me from making progress with this project.
Can anyone think of a solution to my problem?
If you enter the Metalogging workspace:
Windows -> Workspace -> Metalogging
I am scrubbing through a clip I loaded in the source viewer.
When I make a marker in the clip, you have the option of writing a description of the content of the clip to the right of the source viewer window.
When I enter a description and go on to the next clip to further add descriptions and return, the markers are still there, but the descriptions are gone!
What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug in the program?
Also on Win 8 here. I can't think of any reason for this not to work. There's very little you can do wrong on this one.
Maybe try adding marker comments from the normal Editing workspace instead of the Metaloging workspace.
Still the same error. The marker comments dissapear as soon as I load a new clip in the source monitor. It's impossible to get an overview of my interviews unless I can get this function working. How can I get help for this issue? Can I contact Adobe directly? I really need to find a solution for this problem, I am on a very tight deadline. Please help!
I found an old post concerning this issue, from about six months back, which has been flagged aswell with Adobe. It seems that this problems occurs with merged clips. All of my interviews are merged clips, of course, since the audio was recorded externally. Whenever you add a marker and put in a description and close and re-open the clip, the information disappears. So now, I probably have to swap to Media Composer and start over on the project.
Thanks Adobe for wasting my time!
