After 5 days, my organizer launches but no longer does anything.  Title bar exists but No drop down menus except the 2 ones on the left.

No main window.

Running OS 10.6.8 on an iMac

What changed on your computer between the organizer working and not?

Could you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing srmarx?

See this document which has some catalog troubleshooting that may be of some help -- http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-catalog-issu es-organizer-elements.html

You could also see what happens if you create a new administrator user on your system and try launching the Organizer within that new user. Would be curious to see if this is a preference, catalog, or other software that could be causing the trouble.

Lastly, you could try an uninstall/reinstall if neither of the previous suggestions work.

Let us know how it goes smarx,

    Regards

    Can you try two things-

    1) Rename the contacts.xml file present at the location on the root folder and re-launch Organizer :

    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Elements Oganizer/9.0/Organizer/Settings

Please note that the path is at the root location folder, not in the user directory.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, try removing preferences.

    2) Uninstall PSE11 (assuming you have the installer with you), reset preferences. For this, go to your username>library>preferences and remove ccom.adobe.ElementsOrganizer11.plist and com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist? Also remove any .lockfiles with the same name.

Now reinstall and PSE11 ans see if it works fine.

Let me know if this resolves the issue.

    Thanks

rename to anything.. say contacts_old.xml !

    and a slight correction in its path - ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Elements Oganizer/11.0/Organizer/Settings

    Thanks

I was just guessing that deleting that contacts file might help.

    and the location as I see is /Library/App Support/Adobe/Elements Organizer/Organizer/Settings <so you're right! >

Please try suggestion 2 if this doesn't work.

    Thanks

I understand your concern. You can delete the files : com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer11.plist and com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist : without uninstalling PSE. Just close Organizer, move these files from the baove said location to say "Desktop". Launch Organizer and see if it works.

This is nowhere going to affect your Editor module.

Settings folder should have contacts.xml but then this depends upon whether you have used photomail or not. So no concern if that file is not there.

    Thanks

The path for these files is : username>library>preferences as I already mentioned in a previous post.

    Thanks
