how to move photos from computer file into Elements Organizer

Photoshop Elements 10.  After loading pictures into "my pictures" in windows I cannot move them into the Organizer.  The raw files will not transfer despite adding the plug-in and now the jpg files from my latest

batch will not move to the Organizer.

    After 214 views I have had no replies.  You are on the staff so what am I to do?  This product does not work

    as advertised!  There must be an answer.  It is far too time consuming to retreat back to windows to find a file.

    For several years, from PSE 6, I have relied on the Organizer to quickly locate a picture that I wish to work on

    and just simply browse my photos.  I need this problem solved.

    What plug-in are you referring to? ACR? How did you add it? The way to update ACR is not to download and add anything but to go to Help>Updates in the editor. What do you mean by "will not transfer"? When you add photos to organizer they don't literally move; it's just that PSE adds them to the organizer database. If these are raw files that PSE isn't recognizing, what camera model?

    Molly, certain new cameras produce RAW photos that PSE10 cannot make use of. What camera are you using?

    Yes, dj_paige is correct. If you tried to install ACR 7.x, that's not compatible with PSE 10, only PSE 11, but there are workarounds.

    Sorry, molly, we need the details.


    "Sony NEX" doesn't exist. SONY NEX-3 exists, Sony NEX-7 exists, and so on.


    Also, you can't install Sony Plug-in for RAW with Adobe software. And you don't need it with Adobe products.

    Sony NEX 7. PSE 10.  I downloaded the plug-in from the Adobe website.

    Before doing that however, jpeg would show up in the

    organizer after being downloaded from the camera card but raw would not.

    After installing the plug-in for raw now neither jpeg or

    raw files show up in the organizer nor do they show up in "my pictures."  I

    most certainly do thank you for trying to help me.

    Go to Full Edit and frojm the menu choose:

     

    Help >> Updates

     

    Install camera raw 6.7 if available.

    Did you do a manual install of the new plug-in? It would be better to take it out, put the old one back and try Help>Updates as 99jon suggests.

    Late on the scene here and just wondered about a simple question; what are you doing to "transfer" the photos to PSE?

     

    Are you choosing File> Get photos and videos> from files and folders?

    In my computer programs listing I do not see the file name of "Elements

    Camera Raw 6.7 to remove it.  I see "Image Data Converter" and PMB.  When I

    go into the Editor-Help-Updates, it simply says that "Your applications are

    all up to date as checked."  I cannot

    proceed from there,

    It's not a program, but a plug-in that is part of PSE. Go to Help>About Plug-in (on a mac, Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor>about plug-in) and see what it says for camera raw.

    The plug in shows Adobe Photoshop Elements Raw ....version 6.7.
