I have what might be 2 questions. I'm using the apycom jqmenu on my web pages and when I select a menu item and go to another page, the menu highlight just goes back to home and does not stay on the selected menu item and I suspect that part of my problem might be the whole page seems to be doing a full refresh where the background flashes white, then redraws the background and so on. In an earlier version of my site with a different menu, the back ground did not refresh like this. So what is causing the background image to redraw, and how can I prevent it when changing pages. The background image is the same for all pages. Thanks.
I'm not seeing it in Firefox. But it may help if you reduce the size of your background-image from 900+ KB to something better suited to the web, under 100 KB.
I would also suggest consolidating CSS code into an external CSS file and linking your Template to the external stylesheet. This will save load time.
I'll try that, but when I had previously used a dwuser.com menu and some associated code that I cut and pasted, the page did not redraw at all, only the content changed. It was very smooth. I tried using some cut and paste with the new menu, but no luck. My main concern is that the new menu, which is suppose to stay highlighted on the selected item (and does on their website for example) always goes back to HOME and I thought maybe this refresh had something to do with it. Not sure if they are related, but it seemed somewhat logical since if I select an item on the menu but don't have a link (so the page doesn't change), then the highlight does what it's suppose to. So I guess I'm also trying to get the menu not to refresh either.
