Can't upload files

I have Dreamweaver CS6, with Windows 7.  I have been using Dreamweaver for years without problems -- until now.

 

I have tried repeatedly to upload a folder, without success.  When I go to view the files in cPanel's file manager, there is nothing that has been uploaded.  I don't know if this is related, but I cannot see files in the remove server from Dreamweaver.

 

If anyone can offer insight on this problem, I would be most grateful.

    Check your site definnition settings. 

    Sounds like a corrupted cache or personal config folder.

    Have you specified the correct root directory??? To make sure, ask your host.

    Thank you for the suggestion.  Unfortunately, I've deleted the file, and the same problem arises.

    You mentioned you've been using DW for years, but CS6 is the latest version so did you upgrade from an earlier version?

    That's correct.  I have upgraded from a series of earlier versions.

    The problem was solved by checking off "Passive FTP" in Sites > Manage Sites > Servers [double click on the server] > More Options.

    I figured you might have upgraded - I kept the same version (CS5) but re-downloaded onto a new computer and had an awful time trying to get the newer version to upload files.  It kept telling me something about no synchronization (or something).  I finally just deleted the old files completely instead of trying to overwrite them (tried it with a lesser page first, not the index page), and it seemed to work okay.

     

    Glad you figured out what went wrong and thanks for posting your solution.
