Positioning of a fluid grid div within a container or another fluid grid div

I have a fluid grid div nested within another fluid grid div.  I would like it to sit at the bottom of the parent.  when I go live it floats to the top of the parent.  How can I postion it either to stay at the bottom of perhaps in the middle on the Y axis?
