I need help, fast.
I am begining work on a file that is supose to be W-600cm x H-150cm.
My question is what DPI per cm must I choose ?
I have been working with business cards and other small designs on 250 DPI, but never on such a large file.
I want the quality of the design to be great, what is the best DPI for such a large size ?
Depends mostly on 2 factors
Best to ask that question of your printer, they will glady give you an answer. Vinyl banners are about that size we have done at 100 dpi, but they hang high on a building.
Unfortunetly I am only doing the design and don't have contact to the printing house.
The viewing distance will be abou 8-15 meters.
Right now I am working on 600cm x 150cm on DPI - 60 Pixels/Inch or 23 Pixels/Centimeter
Yep, billboards are usually at 30dpi or even lower when viewing distances are longer. Look at a bllboard up close and you can't even resolve the image often the dots are so large. If your design is for that kind of application you really don't need to be at 60dpi
